One of the most annoying films of my lifetime is Pleasantville. Prof Althouse, back from an auto show, has taken some truly beautiful photographs which prove that life back in the day was a great deal more colorful and stylish than the makers of that movie would have us believe.
If you'd like to see a great picture about those times, by the way, chock full of beautiful cars, it doesn't get much better than American Graffiti.
